Baby Sister⚓︎

Dear Jackson,

Your baby sister will be here soon, and I'm again feeling a flood of emotions, just like I was right before you were born. The difference is that when you were born, I had no point of reference for what a dad is supposed to be.

Your grandfather showed his love through his work, and if you take that measure by itself, he loved me tremendously. The thing is, when you're always working, it means you're not around when you should be. My point of reference has always been to do the exact opposite. I don't want to miss a single thing.

We've been helping you get used to the idea of a new baby for the last few months, but change is always scary, especially at your age. With the arrival of your baby sister, life will become a bit more complicated. You two are always going to be the priority, but your mom and I will need to split our time between you both.

Your mom and I will always make sure that you're as comfortable as can be with this new change. You already do so well with adapting, and you're not afraid to experience new things in life. It makes me so proud to see you growing up and becoming the best son I could ever ask for.

You're going to be a great big brother, and I can't wait for you to meet your baby sister.
