Fourth of July 2022⚓︎
Dear Jackson,
It's funny how two years in a row, I've managed to write you a letter on the 4th of July. I don't know why it keeps happening, but it gave me a good laugh.
It's been two and a half months now since Sienna was born and you've become quite an awesome big brother. You take the role seriously and help out any chance you get. It's wonderful to see, and your mom and I take every opportunity we can to make sure you know how much we appreciate your help.
You've been having a hard time with so much change in your life. Speaking from experience, I'm not a fan of change either so I can empathize. Your mom and I do try to help make things easier whenever we can, even though it's not always easy. Even with all the new changes - your sister being born, moving into a new class at daycare, potty training - you still always manage to put on a happy face and never let anything stop you.
I love the energy and the approach you bring to everything you do. I love the way you look at the world; in some ways, I envy it.
What I'm trying to say is that I'm immensely proud of you and who you're becoming. You're an incredibly advanced and talented kid and sometimes it's hard to keep up. You're already speaking in full sentences, you can count to 13, you know all your colors, your vocabulary is incredible, and your curiosity knows no limits. I wish I had been half as talented at your age.
I can't wait to see all that this year has in store for you. I love you, son.
Love Always,
Dad
