Second Birthday⚓︎
Dear Sienna,
I just put you to bed about an hour ago for the last time as a one year old. It's a bittersweet feeling - I'm happy that you're growing so much and becoming such a wonderful and sweet little girl. On the other hand, I'm a little sad that you're growing up and it's hard to look at you as a baby anymore. I know it's the nature of things; I went through the same thing with Jackson, and now it's time to go through it with you.
Over the last few months, your abilities have just exploded. You're running, jumping, playing, talking(!), singing, and just all around communicating with me, mommy, and Jackson. Speaking of Jackson, wow, do you idolize him. It's the sweetest thing, and he loves it too, even if he gets upset somtimes (he's still learning too).
One of the greatest joys of my entire life is watching you and Jackson grow up. Being your dad is the most important thing I'll ever do, and as hard as it is sometimes, I love every minute of it.
Before you went to sleep tonight, you asked me to sing you Happy Birthday. You said "Daddy sing Happy Birthday!" I did, and you looked at me smiling and sang it with me. I can't wait to sing it to you tomorrow too.
I'm so proud of the amazing little kid you are, and I can't wait to see everything this next year brings.
Happy birthday, baby girl. I love you more than you know.
Always and forever,
Dad
